Jazz Tonight @ 10pm in the Geneva room.....
It's that time again, the end of semester jazz ensemble concert. It was supposed to be last week but due to scheduling conflicts it's now tonight at 10pm, geez it's really late for a concert. Oh well. It's my last one so hopefully it will be groovy. Hope to see some friends and have them take groovy concert pics for me. Other than that stressed out as usual. There just doesn't seem to be as many hours in the day to get everything done and get enough sleep at the same time.

And so it begins.....
This is my first attempt at writing a blog so bear with me. So let's start with an introduction. I'm 22. I've lived in South East Asia most of my life and then came to HWS college in upstate NY. I'm majoring in Environmental Studies and double minoring in Asian Studies and Economics. I like learning about lots of different things and looking at things from different perspectives to figure out the optimal solutions to problems. I plan on going to grad school for Geography in a year.
I like music, I play the saxophone, and dabble in guitar and bass. I like all kinds of music spanning from jazz to prog rock, and alt. Lately I've been a big fan of John Mayer, JET, Jack Johnson, Max Judo, John Butler Trio, The Decemberists, Soulive, Topaz, and The Addison Grove Project. I'm currently a tenor player in the Jazz ensemble at HWS. We play pretty funky stuff that's pretty recent: Medeski Martin and Wood, Greyboy Allstars, as well as lots of Herbie Hancock and Weather Report tunes which aren't so recent.
Having lived in 4 different Asian countries: Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, and Japan, I've develped a sort of vagabond knoledge of places to go, things to do. This is my main reason for wanting to study Geography or the significance of people, place and the enviroment. No it's not about memorizing where capital cities are.
I like cycling, especially track cycling, outdoorsee stuff (though haven't gotten to do much of it lately) skiing, surfing, flying......pretty much anything that makes you feel like you're going a million miles an hour.
There you have it. That's me in a nutshell.
