whoa need catching up here.....

Wow it's been a while. Been really busy with my class. So far so good. Had two midterms, got a B on the first one, still not sure on the second one but hopefully not too much worse. There's still the final next week so It should even out.

Ok let's get caught up:

June 6th:

Went to Upper Darby (near Philly), PA with Bailey to see the Decemberists: The Hazards of Love tour. Got a tour tee, pretty cool graphics.

The opening was really good: Robyn Hitchcock, Peter Buck (REM), Scott McCaughey, Bill Rieflin. A whimsical and surreal group that had funny banter between songs about how the further you travel away from earth you get smaller in size. Robyn held up a little plastic astronaut figureine of Buzz Aldrin to prove his point. Later in the act he talked about a little aligator, penguin, and cone. Played a song called "Good Night Oslo." I'm deffinately going to be listening to them in the future.

The Decemberists were amazing, they played all sorts of instruments from mandolins, banjos, organs, accordion, and lots of drums; in fact everyone was playing drums at some point. They were the best concert I've been too since I saw Jack Johnson and G. Love live in Tokyo back in 2005. (Wow it's been a while huh?) The lead guitarist was playing so well and so hard that he started bleeding from a finger. I got some pretty good photos with my camera that I will post as soon as I can figure out how.

We stayed in a great motel, the hyatt summer feild suites and got a nice room that had everything from a fridge to a little 2 burner stove and lounge. All for an amzing price. We can thank William Shatner on Priceline for that!

The following weekend.....

June 13th:
Went to see Dave Matthews band in Saratoga Springs, near Albany with Bai's family and Alex. Alex and I had lawn tickets and we also got to meet up with old HWS freind Jen and her bf. All in all great concert despite getting rained on. I didn't know you could fuse a jimi hendrix and a led zeppelin song into it's own Dave Matthews song for one of the four encores they played!

Went to see Star Trek for a secon time with Bailey, still the coolest movie of 2009. I like watching movies a second time, it helps you catch more subtleties. Still can't beleive that it stars John Cho, Simon Pegg, Zachary Quinto, and Leonard Nimoy.

Finally this week the Endicott Tri-Cities airport got their one-plane flight school set up and I had a few lessons to brush up on. Turns out I've already gotten more than 40 flying hours, and am getting close to getting the license woot! Just a few more things: written test, simulated intrument flying and I can take my checkride (like your road test but for planes.)

One more week to go here in Binghamton then I'm going back to NJ to sort out my rents new house and really get the job search in full swing. So far it's been great and I've had a fun time. I wish I knew how to post images so I could turn this into a photo blog but that will have to wait for another time.
